Hard Rock Penang and why we keep on coming back!

It's definitely a long journey from KL to Penang, it could take us close to 5 hours if we make any stops at the RnR, but could be around 4 hours at most times. But journey up north to Penang for Hard Rock Hotel stays will always get great cheer in the house. The children would probably note Hard Rock Penang as their best holidaying destination, we're happy that they still love domestic vacations and have their feet grounded.

Why do we keep on going back? It's a place with everything in it's compound. You could either eat at Hard rock cafe, Starz Cafe or Pizzarie. Or you can just walk across the street to some malay restaurant selling grill fish, seafood and local dish. You can even drive a good 5 minutes to stalls
selling laksa penang.

We would sometimes drive up to gurney plaza for sushi or go to town for the roti nan and nasik kandar. Anything you heart craves, they have it.

Hard Rock goes all out for the interior and makes you feel like a super start right from the time you enter the hotel. Everyone is there to be friendly with you and it will be odd if they are not treating you nicely and greet you to have a rocking day!

You may see the pictures from our various visit ( accumulated as we make atleast 2 visits a year).

You can checkout too if groupon has any offer on the hotel or book via agoda for slighter bargain. Another option would be early bird booking.

We've tried most rooms and our last trip last weekend was spent in Lil Rock Suite. It's a big room with a small room for children. so parents can sleep in the main room and children gets a room with pullaway bed, a TV of their own, playstation and they could watch their selected movies too.

Children will have great fun in this room and trust me, parents have more space for relaxation as well.

We opted for access to executive lounge as well this time which doesn't come with the room, it's purchased separately. It allows you access for breakfast, noon tea and evening canapes. It provides free flow of drinks of your choice ( I normally would go for latte and perrier sparkling). They have lots of selection and finger food. It's worth it especially after the evening swim when the children are really hungry.

The pool has 2 selections for kids and adults, so is the slides. Kids will love playing at the pool side where there's sandy area for them to build their sand castles as well as the slide area where there's a water playground area for them.

Parents would become kids again too on the slides. :-)

Just at the side of the pool, a short walk of 2 mins, you can see the Batu Feringghi area where you can spend your time just lazying around by the beach or try the water sports offered by independent owners. There's paragliding, jet skiing, boat riding, horse back riding and alot more. All in one spot!

If parents wants to rest and have a romantic lunch/ evening coffee, or even go massaging which is available at the Rock Spa next to the pool, you have the option of leaving your kids at the Lil'Rock club where they could play and be taken care of for free.

They allow children from the age of 4- 12.

So you can have a good few hours on your own if you need to.

It's a fun place to be for both parents and children. We even went to the extreme of trying out Hard Rock Hotel Bali as well which is double the size of the one in Penang. It's the same great fun and everyone is just there to make you feel appreciated and at home. 5 stars from us!
